Using the Evacuate Action

Select the Evacuate action by pressing the "Evacuate" button under the game map. When the Evacuate action is selected, clicking the mouse on the game map in a land area occupied by your nation will cause your forces to withdraw from that land area. The land area will then be unoccupied, free for any nearby nation to take. You can also click and drag out a box surrounding a number of areas, and all of these areas within the box will be evacuated automatically.

One strategic use of the Evacuate action is to clear the way for friendly or allied nations to occupy areas that were formerly occupied by your nation. Another use is to withdraw from stranded and far flung sections of your nation, in order to make your nation's area more contiguous and thereby increase your Geographic Efficiency, making your nation more effective.
