A
nation's geographic efficiency reflects the advantage or
disadvantage that the shape and size of the nation give its ability
to fight and develop effectively. A nation that is consolidated
as one roughly uniform shape is much more efficient for purposes
of communication and the transportation of troops and supplies than
is a nation broken up in several seperate pieces, riddled with holes,
or composed of unwieldy thin tracts. A nation's geographic efficiency
will also suffer if the nation's area is larger than its supportable
area (as displayed in the Nation Panel).
You
should strive to keep your geographic efficiency at or close to
100% at all times. You can do this by occupying some areas and evacuating
others, to give your nation a more uniform, efficient shape, and
maintain an area that is sizable but not too large.
Another
way to improve your nation's geographic efficiency is to develop
technologies that increase your nation's Air
Combat attribute. Effective transportation by air allows far-flung
areas of a nation to work together better, improving the nation's
overall efficiency.
Geographic
efficiency, if neglected, can have a severe impact on a nation's
performance. A nation with geographic efficiency of 66% is overall
only two-thirds as effective as it would be with full 100% geographic
efficiency.

efficiency that results from these shapes.
