Choosing Your Selected Weapon

Your selected weapon is the weapon that your nation's forces will be primarily attacking with when you use the Attack action.

You choose your selected weapon from the "Weapon" menu located under the game map and action buttons. This selected weapon menu is a list of all weapons that your nation has available to it, either from developing or purchasing technologies or abilities. Old, useless weapons that have long been made obsolete by newer weapons are excluded from the selected weapon menu list. For example, a nuclear age society would have little use for catapults.

Choosing which weapon to select when attacking a particular enemy can be much more subtle than simply always picking your latest, greatest, "most powerful" weapon. For example, it's good strategy to choose a weapon that emphasizes a particular advantage that you have over the enemy you wish to attack. You may want to experiment by attacking an enemy nation using various weapons, or you can weigh the specific advantages that each weapon offers your nation.
