Signing up to play War of Conquest

Playing War of Conquest is free, and it's very easy to get going. Start by installing the game client on your computer. First download the setup program here, then run it and follow the instructions to install the game. Then start up the War of Conquest client.

The Log In Screen

Once the client has connected with the server, the Log In screen will appear. From here you can log in to the game if you've already signed up for an account, by entering your username and password. If you haven't yet signed up for an account, you can do so now for free by pressing the "Sign Up Now!" button.

Information to fill in for a new account

After pressing "Sign Up Now!", you'll be brought to the New User Sign-Up screen. Here you enter the username for your new account, and your e-mail address. If you already have a PayPal account, enter the email address associated with that account so that any cash prizes you win can be deposited directly into your PayPal account.

Your user password will be sent immediately to the e-mail address that you enter here. You will need that password in order to log in to the game. Once you have your password, you can change it at any time. To learn how to change your password, see the section on Changing User Information.

To proceed to the next step, press the "Next" button at the bottom of the screen. You'll then be brought to the "Choose Your Nation" screen. At this point you decide whether to join forces with an existing nation, or to create your own nation. If you create your own nation, you may later decide to invite others to join it.

Join an existing nation, or create a new one?

To join an existing nation, enter that nation's name and password. If you received an invitation by e-mail to join the nation, that e-mail should give you the name and password of the nation. If you've found a nation on your own that you'd like to join, you can ask the nation's players for permission to join, and for the password.

If you decide to create your own new nation, press the "Create Nation" button, and you will be brought to the "Create a New Nation" screen.

Creating a new nation

Here you choose the name and password for your new nation. Any player who wants to join your nation will need to know the password you choose here. You should choose a password that will be difficult to guess, so that a player on an enemy nation won't be able to join your nation to sabotage it.

Finally you choose the color that will be used to mark your nation on the game map. You can choose whatever color you'd like, it has no effect on any other quality of your nation.

When you are finished, press "Done" at the bottom of the screen. You will then be returned to the Log In screen. You may now enter your new username and user password (not your nation password) to log in to War of Conquest and begin playing!
