Technology Summary panel.
Attributes
Your
nation's effectiveness in attacking and defending itself against
enemies ultimately boils down to its attributes. The base value
of each of your nation's attributes is the sum of the bonuses given
to each attribute by the technologies you have developed, the technologies,
abilities and items that you have purchased, and the abilities gained
from special land areas that you occupy. Any attribute for which
your nation has a value greater than zero will be displayed in the
Technology Summary panel.
For
each attribute displayed, its icon, name, and base and final values
are given. An attribute's base value is simply the sum of all bonuses
to that attribute that your nation has. An attribute's final value
takes into account several factors. If you are in an alliance with
another nation, than your attribute's final value starts off as
the highest number between your base value for that attribute, and
your ally's. This reflects the sharing of technologies between allies.
Also, an attribute's final value takes into account your nation's geographic efficiency, leadership efficiency, and convergence stats. For more information about these stats, see the section on the Stats Tab.
For example , if a nation has a terrible geographic
efficiency of 52% coupled with a leadership efficiency of 90%
(due to having an ally), this means that each of its final attribute values
will be, after taking technologies shared via the alliance into
account, only 47% (52% x 90%) as high as the base values.
An
attribute's final value is what's taken into account for purposes
of attacking and defending. For more information on attacking, click
here.
For
each attribute, both the base and the final value may sometimes
have other colored numbers written after them, such as "22
+5 +12".
The number written in red is added to the original number (in white)
only when your nation is attacking, and the number written
in blue is added to the original number only when your nation is
defending. In the case of the illustration above, the nation's Motivation
value, 416, is increased by 180 when the nation is attacking, and by 8 when it is defending.
